MY ETHICS

My work with you is subject to a strict professional code of conduct, a copy of which is available to you.

You may notice that I don't use Client testimonials. This is because :-

Publication of a testimonial may make identification of my Client possible.

Testimonials imply that the benefit which a Client has obtained from therapy will be available to all potential Clients. This is not the nature of such a diverse practice as Hypnotherapy/Psychotherapy because each Client is unique and may experience a whole range of diverse personal benefits and outcomes. Such outcomes may be different for each Client.

The Client may be vulnerable to undue influence and feel a duty to provide a testimonial when asked.

The ability for a potential Client to determine the truth of a testimonial is beyond their means and the testimonial is therefore meaningless. At worst it may be untrue and misleading.

DIVERSITY & EQUALITY

The very nature of today's diverse society in terms of socio economic, cultural, sexual orientation and religious and racial backgrounds presents me with the opportunity of meeting many diverse Clients, to whom I offer a warm, open, honest, empathetic and respectful welcome. The trusting, therapeutic relationship I achieve with my Clients is built upon the foundations of unconditional positive regard - accepting and respecting others as they are without judgement or evaluation.

CONFIDENTIALITY

Therapy will only be successful when there is openness, honesty and trust between the Client and Therapist. Without the assurance that whatever is said between Client and Therapist in a therapy session will remain confidential, Clients will not feel able to open up and reveal their deepest feelings. Sometimes those feelings can make the Client feel ashamed and sometimes Clients are worried that work colleagues or family members will find out about them receiving therapy.

My professional code of conduct commits me to respect, protect and preserve Client confidentiality. This means that everything a Client tells me within a therapy session is held absolutely confidential.
